Duncan Bruce - Original 1987 Watercolour. Signed, dated and inscribed on verso. Unsigned. In fine condition. From a collection of 60 paintings by the artist dating from 1972 - 1993. Duncan Bruce (1919 – 2002) spent his life recording the English landscape from Cornwall to Scotland. This allegedly began when Bruce was a young soldier in WW11 when he witnessed horses being loaded onto a boat. He felt that this scene must be recorded and from that day he continued to capture everyday life. After the war Bruce became a farmer. He exhibited widely throughout his career and he was a member of the Chichester Art Society and the Association of Sussex Artists. His journeys around the United Kingdom are fully recognised in his striking watercolour paintings.Size
