Dione Page

Dione Page was born in London and raised in Tolleshunt Major Maldon, Essex. After completing her studies at Colchester School of Art, she worked under artist Charles Debenham in graphic design. For thirty years Page wrote a column on art and design for the Essex County Standard, and between 1977 and 1997 she taught at Essex County Council in Adult Art Education.

Her earlier work focuses on the Welsh Hills, where she enjoyed many family holidays before finding inspiration in the East Anglian coastline. She predominantly works in pencil, gouache and wax pastel, creating imaginative interpretations of rural scenes.

During her career she has received several notable awards including the Watercolour Award at the Royal Watercolour Association, Best Watercolour at the Essex Open Exhibition in 1995, Best Painting Award at the East of England Art Exhibition in 1996 and in the same year won the Best Newcomer Award at the Bury St Edmund's Art Society. This captivating body of work delves into the picturesque countryside around the British Isles.
