Artist Biography
Painter and watercolourist Derek Williams was born in 1932 in the West Midlands. Working as an editor and photographer for a variety of newspapers in Wolverhampton he also designed logos for Old Spice and V05. Moving to Borth, Wales he ran private Art classes while pursuing his career as a professional artist, achieving much commercial success. A member of The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists the gallery recently held a memorial exhibition in his honour describing him as a 'highly gifted and skilled painter who captured the spirit of the moment and brought his subjects to life'.
