A fine watercolour painting by the artist Dennis Rothwell Bailey, depicting a coastal scene in the village of Ravenglass. Signed to the lower right-hand corner. There is a label on the reverse inscribed with the title. Well-presented in a washline card mount and in a speckled, gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.

Condition

Painting in fine condition. Minor marks to the mount. Small scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography

Although he paints a variety of landscape subjects, Dennis Rothwell Bailey is particularly well known for his paintings of the Lake District. Many are included in the collection of Sharrow Bay Country House Hotel on Ullswater. His paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Institute and the Royal Watercolour Society and several have been published.
