Dennis Rothwell Bailey (b.1933) trained at the Bolton School of Art and started his career in commercial art which included spells in advertising agencies, publishing houses, and commercial studios. He commenced full-time landscape painting in 1976 and is equally adept with either oils or watercolours. Although he paints a variety of landscape subjects, Dennis Rothwell Bailey is particularly well known for his paintings of the magnificent Lake District. His work now features in collections in the USA, Europe, and Australia, and many are included in the collection of Sharrow Bay Country House Hotel on Ullswater. Dennis Rothwell Bailey’s paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Institute and the Royal Watercolour Society Open Exhibitions.
