Dennis Rothwell Bailey trained at the Bolton School of Art, and began his career in commercial art, at advertising agencies, publishing houses and commercial studios. He became a professional landscape painter in 1976 and is equally adept with either oils or watercolours. Although he paints a variety of landscape subjects, he is particularly well known for his paintings of the beautiful English Lake District, and his work has been exhibited widely, including at the Royal Institute and the Royal Watercolour Society and his paintings feature in private collections across the world
