Dennis Frost (1925-1982) was born in England. He studied at St. Martin's School of Art, the Chichester School of Art and the Putney School of Art. He developed a fine, vigorous style in pastel as an offshoot from oil painting. In 1981 he won the Inveresk Painting Pastel Award. His paintings are in collections in the United Kingdom and the United States. He was the author of Painting Portraits in Pastel.
