Artist Biography
Deborah Whitman was born on July 4, 1953 in Virginia, United States, she was the daughter of R. Fargo and Doreen Whitman. Deborah studied at the University of Virginia, gaining a masters in Fine Arts in 1975. Whitman has exhibited extensively throughout her career, mainly in the US, these include solo shows at the John Gibson Gallery, New York City, 1984, and John Weber Gallery, New York City, 1990. Group exhibitions include The Brooklyn Museum, 1993, and the Los Angeles Film Festival, 2003, where she won the Grand Jury award for Best Documentary.
