David Stanislas - Surrealist Original 1916 Watercolour. With pen and ink and gouache. Inscribed with a surrealist Franglish poem reminiscent of Lewis Carol's 'Jabberwocky'. Monogrammed and Dated and Inscribed. Numerous small repaired tears with various folds to corners and sides.

From a collection of interesting watercolours all monogrammed D.S., one of which is signed as David Stanislas. All produced at the height of the Surrealist era, and include themes from mythology and theology, particularly that of hybrid creatures and dream-like studies.
