A graphite drawing of Princess Louise (1848-1939) with later hand colouring. She was the sixth child and fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. In her public life, she was a strong proponent of the arts, higher education, and the women's suffrage movement. Presented glazed in a white card mount and a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Inscribed with the sitter's name to her waist and signed and dated to the lower-right edge. On wove.

Condition

There is extensive discolouration and numerous marks to the surface. There are scuffs and marks to the frame.
