Description
A finely executed still life in watercolour, depicting an elaborate black lustre vase decorated with delicate gilt and white enamel. Resting at the foot of the vase the artist has captured several yellow and white crocus flowers starting to go passed their best. The painting has been beautifully presented in a gilt-effect frame with moulded members. Monogrammed by the artist and dated 1916 to the lower right. On paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the watercolour. There is a scuff to the painting in the lower left quadrant and a small tear in the paper over one of the crocus flowers. The picture frame is in a good condition with minimal wear to the gilt.
