A unique artwork combining engraving with reverse glass painting, also known as verre églomisé. The engraving is by Daniel Berger (1744-1824) after Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki (1726-1801). Paint has then been applied to the underside of the glass and laid over the image. Beautifully presented in a maple frame. Unsigned. On paper.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Discolouration and light foxing. Some small losses to the paper behind the glass. Faint scratches to the glass. Marks and scuffs to the frame.
