Painter born at Oakmoor, Staffordshire. Nothing is known of his artistic training but Cyril Ward belonged to the important school of English garden painters popular during the decades before World War I. He exhibited at and was a member of the RCamA and he also showed at the FAS, Leeds Art Gallery and at the RHA, Dublin. It is thought that later in life he became a hotel proprietor in the south of England
