A still lake scene with flowers and trees behind which are reflected in the water. Presented in a washline mount and thin gilt-effect frame. Signed and dated to the lower-left edge.Condition
Some minor discolouration and foxing. Some scuffs to the frame, primarily to the lower-right corner. Overall in good condition.

Artist Biography
Cuthbert Rigby was born in Liverpool. He was apprenticed to an architect but became a professional artist around 1872 and received painting tuition from William James Bishop (1805–1888). He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery, was an Associate Member of the Royal Watercolour Society, and was also the Founder Member of the Lake Artists Society.
