Description

A combination of oil and gouache has been used in conjunction with watercolour to create this vibrant still life of flowers on a window ledge. On first glance the composition sparks an initial sense of simplicity, but on closer inspection Kent's distinct artist style comes to the foreground, showcasing his skill and understanding of tone, texture, light, and shade. Signed to the lower left-hand corner. The painting has been well presented in a double card mount and silver-effect frame. On paper.

Light wear to the contemporary style frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.

Artist Biography

Colin was born in London in 1934. He studied painting and architecture at Walthamstow College of Art and worked for a number of years as an architect before becoming a full-time artist. He was elected a member of the RI in 1971 and has regularly exhibited in the UK and USA.
