Dramatic washes of ink and gouache have been used in conjunction with watercolour, to create this enchanting view of a woodland cottage. On first glance the composition sparks an initial sense of simplicity, but on closer inspection Kent's distinct artist style comes to the foreground, showcasing his skill and understanding of tone, texture, light, and shade. Signed to the lower right-hand corner. The painting has been well presented in a wide woven slip and silver-effect frame.

Colin was born in London in 1934. He studied painting and architecture at Walthamstow College of Art and worked for a number of years as an architect before becoming a full time artist. He was elected a member of the RI in 1971 and has regularly exhibited in the UK and USA.
