Colin Gillespie Mitchell (1870-1938) - Oil Figures on a Woodland Path

Description

A fine oil landscape, painted in the style of British artist Colin Gillespie Mitchell RWS. The scene depicts a beautiful summer woodland skirting round the edge of a large lake. Two figures can be seen to the foreground walking the woodland path. The composition holds many similarities to Mitchell's work, however we do not believe it is by the artist. Bears the signature ' C. G. Mitchell' to the lower right. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

There is a small area of restoration to the upper right-hand corner and the canvas has been resized on smaller stretchers. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
