A charming and delicate watercolour by the British artist Clifford H. Thompson (1926-2017), depicting a wheat field with a tree-lined fence. To the reverse, the artist has painted a study of two flowers in bloom, as shown. Thompson has a clear proficiency in the medium, with careful construction of form and shadow. Dated '4.8.99' to the upper left corner, and dated '22.5.08' to the reverse. Unsigned and dated. On watercolour paper.
