Description

A pair of detailed watercolours depicting ships from the Royal Navy. One depicts H.M.S. Arrogant, built as part of the 1895 Naval programme and designed to operate with the main battle fleet, finishing off crippled enemy ships by ramming. Inscribed with the name of the ship to the centre of the lower-edge and monogrammed to the lower-right edge. The other depicts a smaller ship, also flying the White Ensign of the Royal Navy. Signed and dated 1918 to the lower-right edge. Both presented glazed in white mounts and distressed gilt-effect frames. On wove.

There is some foxing and discolouration to both artworks. Overall in good condition.
