Clarence Norman Barlow (1909--1986) was a London born artist who was educated in Switzerland. He studied drawing and painting at Heatherleys School of Art where he was a pupil of Roger Gray RWS. Between 1925 and 1945 he was a prolific painter in England, Denmark, Switzerland and frequently in Itality, including Venice. Barlow was an admirer and friend of Philip Wilson Steer (1860–1942) who made a big influence on his painting.
