A fine lithograph depicting the well-known work 'A Dawn, 1914' by the well-collected artist Christopher R.W. Nevinson (1889-1946). The work shows French infantrymen marching with a relentless machine-like rhythm to the battle front. The soldiers are reduced to a series of angular planes and grey colouring, losing their individuality and appearing almost like machines, holding bayoneted rifles. Published 1932 in 'Modern Masters of Etching: C.R. Nevinson' by The Studio, London. On wove fixed to another piece of wove along the top edge. Unsigned.Condition
In very good condition. Trimmed edges. Some light marks on backing paper.

Artist Biography
Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson ARA (1889-1946) was an English figure and landscape painter, etcher and lithographer, who was one of the most famous war artists of World War I. He is often referred to by his initials C. R. W. Nevinson, and was also known as Richard.
