Artist Biography
Christopher Plowman was a printmaker and sculptor born in Hampshire. He studied at Winchester College of Art, Wolverhampton College of Art, and the Royal College of Art. He was a prize winner at the Bradford International Print Biennale in 1979, and his solo shows include venues such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, the Market Print Gallery, Exeter, and Wolverhampton Art Gallery. Plowman taught printmaking from 1987-99 at the Royal College of Art. Examples of his works are in the Tate Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Council, New York Public Library, British Museum, Southampton Art Gallery, Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Bradford Art Gallery, Cheltenham Art Gallery, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Stirling University Art Collection, Otter Gallery and Portsmouth Art Gallery.
