Artist Biography

Christopher P. Wood (b. 1961) is a painter and printmaker known for his enigmatic, atmospheric oil paintings. He studied at Jacob Kramer College of Art, Leeds (1980–81), graduated with honours in graphic design from Leeds Polytechnic (1981–84), and completed an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art (1985–86). Wood has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, with group exhibitions including the ICA New Contemporaries (1986), Angela Flowers Gallery (1987), Yorkshire Printmakers at York City Gallery (1998), and the Hunting Art Prizes at the Royal College of Art (2000). His work has also been shown at venues such as The Art House, Leeds; Leicester City Gallery; and Bruton Gallery, Leeds, and has been sold by 108 Fine Art, Harrogate. Solo exhibitions include Oldham City Art Gallery (1987), Sue Williams Gallery (from 1989), Rebecca Hossack Gallery (from 1996), Newark Park, Gloucestershire (1998), and Michael Carr Gallery, Sydney (2001).
