Description

A very fine mezzotint by Johann Christian Rugendas (German engraver, 1708-1781). We know this to be the case as this print came with another that was signed in plate. The print has been cropped within the plate line and laid down to a backing sheet. Unsigned. On watermarked laid.

Condition

Overall age toning. There are two tears to the left edge (about 1cm each). There is a 1.5 cm tear to the right edge. Small loss to bottom left and bottom right corners. Image is unaffected by the tears and losses.
