Description

A very fine mezzotint by Johann Christian Rugendas (German engraver, 1708-1781) after his father Georg Philipp Rugendas (1666-1742). Georg Philipp Rugendas was a German battle and military genre painter and engraver. The print has been cropped within the plate line and laid down to a backing sheet. Signed in plate. On watermarked laid.

Condition

Various losses and tears to backing sheet. But the image is unaffected. General age toning. There are some creases to the print which have occurred as a result of it being laid down onto the backing sheet.
