Charming 1886 Watercolour - Restaurant de La Poste

A wonderfully detailed small watercolour depicting a restaurant in Switzerland with a unique facade, featuring 3 painted men. The artist has used graphite detailing and body colour. There is an illegible pencil inscription which is likely to be the name of the town to the lower left. Also dated '21.9.86' in pencil lower left. Unsigned. On wove.

Overall in good condition. Very minor age toning to far outer edges, typical for a picture of this age.

12.5 x 16.7cm (4.9" x 6.6")
Sheet: 12.9 x 17.5cm (5.1" x 6.9")

Collection Information

From a collection of 1886 grand tour watercolours by a very talented hand. Sadly, we have no further information about the artist. Inscriptions are in English and the artist presumably is English as well. Collection Code 39La
