Description

A fine watercolour landscape by the Hon. Charlotte Somerville, after an original painting by Copley Fielding (1787-1855). In the foreground the artist has depicted a windswept tree looking rather rugged at the edge of a river. A path draws your eye down to the large stretch of water, bordered by sun kissed mountains on either side. Well presented in a decorative gilt frame and slip. Unsigned. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and a small closed tear to the lower edge of the paper. The gilt frame shows signs of wear and stable cracking on most members.

Size

18 x 26.5cm (7.1" x 10.4")
Framed Size: 27 x 35.5cm (10.6" x 14")
