A fine and detailed graphite drawing with watercolour by the British artist Charlotte Halliday, depicting a view of St John's Downshire Hill, Hampstead. Signed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. Well-presented in a card mount and in a speckled, pale blue frame with an inner gilt detail. On wove.

Artist Biography

Charlotte Halliday NEAC RWS (b.1935) is a painter of architectural and topographical watercolours, born in London. The daughter of Edward Halliday, she studied under Henry Rushbury and Albert Richardson at the Royal Academy Schools, 1954-57. Her commissions have included Belton House, Hagley Hall and Blenheim Palace amongst many. Halliday also produced documentary drawings of the erection of the Shell and British Petroleum Buildings and the rebuilding of Barclays Bank Head Office. She has work in GAC and in private collections and many City Banks and is a member of the RWS and NEAC, having exhibited there and at the RA on several occasions. She has been the Keeper of the New English Art Club since 1989.
