Description
A fun portrait in ink showing a characterful old man with a big beard, a bigger smile and a curved, clay pipe held between his lips. Mann was only 13 at the time of this drawing, showing a naturally skilled hand with excellent economy of line and a great skill in capturing character. The artist signed at the lower right and inscribed on the reverse with his address, age and the date. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a horizontal and vertical crease running across and down the page from where it has been folded.
