Charles Henri Toussaint (1849-1911) was a French painter, illustrator, and engraver. He was the father of the painter and illustrator Maurice Toussaint (1882-1974). Charles Henri Toussaint was a pupil of Leon Gaucherel, Brunet-Debaines, and C. Waltner. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1874, 1876, 1884, 1899, and 1900. He married Louise Bedelet, daughter of the publisher and Parisian bookseller Amadeus Bedelet. He is known for his many etchings of the architecture of Paris and provincial cities such as Amiens, Rouen, and Reims. He also created etchings of English cities, such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Liverpool.
