A charming pastoral watercolour showing ewe's and their lambs grazing and drinking from their water trough in a lush meadow. The artist has signed to the lower right and the painting has been handsomely presented in an exquisitely molded gilt frame with high relief foliate and botanical scorner ornaments, featuring fern fronds and flowers. The strap work, too, is of quality high relief. The frame is finished with a fine layered mount with gold detailing. On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and fading. The frame has some touching in of the gilt at the upper left corner but is in otherwise fine condition.
