Painter born in Petworth, Sussex the son of a coachman who was active from the early 1900's onwards and he is recorded as having shown at the Fine Art Society, Royal Academy, Dudley Gallery, Walker's Gallery, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Walker Art Gallery, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts from addresses in Brighton and Lewes, Sussex. He is known to have been an early member of the Brighton Art Club. Censuses of the period do not record him as an artists but as following the same profession as his father.
One source states he died in an air raid but I can find no evidence of this. The same source states that the Victoria & Albert Museum and Aberdeen Art Gallery hold examples. There are no records to this effect either. I would be happy to be corrected on any of these points.
