The use of watercolour as a medium perfectly compliments Hannafords expressive yet detailed style, exquisitely portraying the atmosphere of the scene. Wonderfully presented in a white mount and a wooden frame with gilt effect detailing. Unsigned. On watercolour paper.

Artist Biography

Based in Norwich, the Hannaford family comprised of two key artistic figures; Charles Edward Hannaford (1863 - 1955) and his son, Charles Arthur Hannaford (1887 - 1972). Both members of the Royal Society of British Artists, the Hannafords painted their surrounding landscapes with great skill and attention to detail. Subjects include the Norfolk Broads, Cornish and Dartmoor landscapes, Dutch canals and much more.
