The painting is well presented in a git wood frame with a brown mount. Affixed to the rear are two labels, both detailing the artist and artwork's name, th medium and size of the painting.

Painter born at Romford, Essex. Although largely self-taught his watercolours were greatly in demand and it is said that he sold over 1.500 over a thirty-year period. Almost all were from his imagination and were based on the East Anglian landscape that he loved. He was classed as militarily unfit and was exempted from World War II service spending his time working on an Essex farm. A keen poet he wrote much verse particularly during the war years several of which were published in The Listener and in small magazines. He worked as a freelance journalist covering everything from films to sports. His career as a painter started in the 1950’s and he soon exhibited a some of London’s leading commercial venues such as Roland, Browse & Delbanco, Mansard Gallery at Heal’s furniture shop, the New Grafton Gallery, Thackeray Gallery and a solo exhibition at the Leicester Galleries in 1969. His work is held in the collection of the Government Art Collection.
