Charles Davidson was a British, London born watercolourist. A member of the Royal Watercolour Society he counted John Linnel, Samuel Palmer and John Watkins amongst his friends and soon established a high reputation within the London art scene. A photographic portrait of Davidson is kept in the Royal Academy collection, as pictured. Throughout the late 19th Century his work appeared in a number of reputable British galleries including the Royal Academy. His work focuses on rustic depictions of the English countryside and Falmouth in Cornwall where he resided towards the end of his life.
