Some are signed or monogrammed and dated. The collection includes Derbyshire landscapes and charming genre scenes, often featuring children, depicting notions such as Disorder and Contentment. There are also a number of sheets of studies which are exercises in illustration, conveying “likes” and “dislikes” under the headings Proverb, Quality, Occupation, Character, Animal.
