Description

A fine 19th century watercolour landscape painted in a classical style. Depicting two figures and their cattle walking along a rural lane, a large castle is visible in the distance, possibly Bambrugh castle in Northumberland due to its hillside coastal location. Painted on wove laid to thick card. Unsigned.

Condition

Areas of discolouration to the sky. An area of overpainting and restoration to the upper right area of the sky. Restoration to the cow (furthest right). Generally the condition is very good for a picture of this age.
