A vibrant lithograph by Scottish artist Margaret Souttar (1914–2007). In the early 1960s, Souttar was commissioned to produce a series of prints of the Cambridge colleges. The work highlights the layers of history and architectural styles that make up the college and captures the modernity and optimism of the 1960s. The fact that a female artist was commissioned to create the prints reflects the changing attitudes of the University towards women. The print is signed in graphite to the lower right and is well presented in a white frame. Numbered 14/150. On paper.
Condition
Some dirtying and creases to the paper. Marks and scuffs to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in good condition.
