A tender portrait of a young girl resting her head against her maid, after the French artist Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805). This accomplished copy is finely rendered, with soft, hazy marks that gently convey a sense of emotional warmth. Well presented in a beautiful gilt frame with carved floral motifs. On paper.
Condition
Light foxing to the paper. Overall the artwork is in very good condition for its age. The frame has undergone previous restoration, including fills to the lower edge.
