Artist Biography
Ketty Gilsoul-Hoppe (1868-1939) was a Belgian painter best known for her work in watercolour. She was born in Düsseldorf, the daughter of the engraver Edouard Hoppe, and received her artistic training at the Bisschoffsheim School in Brussels. In 1894, she married the painter Victor Gilsoul.Gilsoul-Hoppe specialized in interior scenes, landscapes, and cityscapes. Her painting Interior Hallway was featured in the 1905 publication Women Painters of the World, reflecting her recognition among notable women artists of the period.
