Artist Biography
Caroline Hemming was born in 1931 and was brought up on a horse-powered farm, which gave her an early passion for animals, birds, trees and plants. Hemming is a British printmaker and illustrator known for her images of wildlife and flowers. She began printmaking while staying with the writer Lucy M. Boston, who owned a manor house and garden at Hemingford Grey in Cambridgeshire. It was here that she was introduced to Jim Ede, who founded Kettle’s Yard who bought several of her prints. She now lives in Cornwall.
