Artist Biography
Carol trained in Fine Art at UCA Canterbury, Kent, where she graduated in 2013.
Although she has trained professionally as an artist, it is her desire to create paintings that depict a primitive innocence that is unrestricted by boundaries and rules.
Carol prefers to work with oil paint, but also paints in acrylics. Her subject matter is inspired from a love of storytelling; past, present, events and characters.
Her method involves working swiftly, utilizing paint as a vehicle to colour and capture each ‘moment in time’ that she has experienced. It is the physicality of painting and reliving an observation that drives her to proceed to another memory, ultimately to create a continuing story of her life.
Her aim through her paintings is to bring a smile to the viewer utilizing expressive and simple figurative form, abstraction, colour and an opposition to the fundamental rules of perspective.
