Carmelo Asencio Avila is a self-taught artist born August 1958 in Elche, Spain. He has exhibited at the Castillo Fortaleza Santa Pola in Alicante and the United Colours of Benetton in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Antonio Amorós Sánchez, president of the commission of the cultural area in Elche describes Avila as a 'poet of painting, not only in his rhythmic and curling brushstrokes, but also in the creative process of his painting'.
