On canvas.The painting is in remarkable condition given its age. There are some areas of minor craquelure across the surface. There are two professionally restored canvas repairs at the reverse which are not visible in any way at the front. The frame has had some areas of high quality restoration to the ornamentation. There is some chipping to the return edge.
