A delicate watercolour study by Carlo Giuseppe Saletta (1770-1849), depicting Venice's Piazzetta San Marco with the iconic Doge's Palace on the left and the Column of San Marco rising prominently against a luminous sky. Saletta captures the expansive square bathed in soft light, with Venetians going about their daily activities. Well presented in a gilt-effect frame. Signed to the lower right. On paper.
