Description

A watercolour painting of Standish House in Gloucestershire, built c.1830. During the First World War, the house was taken over by the Red Cross for the recovery of injured soldiers. The house remained a hospital until 2004. Presented unglazed in a washline mount and distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Monogrammed C.P. to the lower-right corner, beneath the mount. Also dated to the lower edge beneath the mount. On watercolour paper.

Condition

Some minor discolouration and foxing but overall in very good condition for its age.
