C.L. Robertson - Original 1888 Graphite Drawing. Inscribed. The drawing spans across a double page spread from the sketchbook. From a sketchbook, signed C L Robertson on the inner cover. The sketchbook included scenes from Devon in the UK, Malta, Yemen and Pakistan. Unsigned. Some foxing as shown in photos.It seems likely that CL Robertson was in the British Royal Navy, as his drawings include scenes on board the HMS Euphrates and HMS Malabar (both launched in 1866). This would explain his access to scenes and views as far afield as the Yemen, Brazil, Tunisia and Pakistan. His graphite drawings are beautifully observed, especially his harbour scenes and more detailed landscapes.
