Description

Two humorous limited edition prints from a series of four that depict the mermaid character Nautical Bette. Both are presented in a cream mount and distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Titled and numbered '1/200' in graphite to the lower-left edges. Signed in graphite to the lower-right edges. Artist's labels to the verso of both. On wove.

Condition

Some minor scuffs and marks to the frames but overall both in fine condition.

Artist Biography

C.J. Archer RI (1928-2016), known as 'Archie', was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1987. His unique humour and style were very popular and he became a prolific artist after retiring early from the advertising industry.
