A charming view of a water mill on a quiet, rural stretch of the river Lim in Dorset. The painting is unsigned and presented in a substantial early 20th Century frame with fluted cove and egg and dart molding. There is a label at the reverse with the location and the framer's stamp dates this artwork between 1840-1860. On board.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. There is some warping to the board and some small areas of craquelure. The frame has some tarnishing and small areas of contemporary gilt effect.
