Bruce Barnden (1925-2009) was a painter of landscapes, architecture, and street scenes. He was educated at Hereford College of Art and had his first exhibition in the town art gallery in 1959. He was an art master before retiring to Frome in Somerset. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and a retrospective was held in Hereford in 2012. Paintings by Barnden are held in the collections of Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, Newport Museum and Art Gallery, and the Otter Gallery at the University of Chichester.
